Technology and Anxiety

I'm not always a fan of how much technology steals away our time and face to face interactions. But there are times that technology can be used to our benefit. This article talks about how we can use technology to help us in time of need. A phone app that I use and recommend regulary to clients is Headspace. This app is for individuals needing help to relax, meditate or to assist when anxiety levels are becoming out of control. Lets make technology work for us and not against us.

7 Principles for Making a Marriage Work

John Gottman is one of the founding fathers of Marriage and Family Therapy. His book, 7 Principles for Making a Marriage Work, is a great read! I have attached a pdf that gives a condensed narrative of the book. Read over it and then try applying some of the techniques to your marriage!

Support Group for Grieving Parents

Here is some information on a new support group for parents that have lost children. There is a web link for more information. We all need outside support, especially during the time of loss and through the grieving process.

New support group for bereaved parents
------------------------------------------------------------
Please help spread the word by inviting bereaved parents to the Dallas area chapter of Helping Parents Heal meeting on Tuesday, July 147-9 pm at Unity Church, Dallas.

Parents and couselors can also visit www.hphdallas.com/events-reminder  to sign up for information on future meetings.

Helping Parents Heal is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting parents who have lost children, giving them support and resources to aid in the healing process. Helping Parents Heal is open to all parents who have lost a child, of any age, under any circumstance. We welcome everyone regardless of religious (or non-religious) background.

Helping Parents Heal goes a step beyond other groups by allowing the open discussion of spiritual experiences and evidence for the afterlife, in a non-dogmatic way.

Whether someone lost their child last month or 20 years ago, we can all benefit from sharing our experiences and friendship.

For more information visit www.hphdallas.com, email info@hphdallas.com
or call 214-732-7770.

We are also interested in hearing from healers who would be interested in speaking at future events and/or contributing blog content.
