Start with what is happening—not with a label.
Therapy may begin with conflict, anxiety, a painful memory, disconnection, substance use, or a transition that has shifted the ground beneath you. Often, several concerns are intertwined.
I look at the whole picture: your relationships, family history, attachment, culture, body responses, current stressors, strengths, and the ways you learned to cope. Together, we build an individualized plan rather than fitting your story into a preset program.

Depending on your goals, readiness, and preferences, therapy may draw from EMDR, Brainspotting, Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS), family systems theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman-informed couples work, cognitive and mindfulness-based strategies, and addiction-recovery support. Methods are explained before we use them, and focused trauma processing always requires preparation and consent.
A method is only one part of good therapy.
The quality of the therapeutic relationship, a shared understanding of your goals, careful pacing, and your sense of safety all matter. Research support also differs by method and concern; each specialty page explains those differences plainly.
